Ok people listen up, if you like cycling and you like a bargain then you need to get down to Aldi pronto. Last Thursday their cycling Special buys launched and it’s well worth a look. I’ve bought one of their cycling jackets in the past and have a bunch of their running clothes, they’re great value and quality. Sure they’re not the latest in Italian styling but when you’re on a budget I don’t think you can go wrong, the range includes jackets, tops, trousers, shorts, shoes and even lights.
Now you need to be quick because once it’s gone it’s gone but Aldi set me a bunch of samples so I thought I’d give you a little taster of what you could be missing out on. I think I have a career in modelling ahead of me right?
Winter cycling shirt – £9.99

“She’s not going out wearing THAT”, I knew this moment would come, I just didn’t think it would be so soon. But alas these were the words uttered by the lady of the manor at the weekend after daddy had been responsible for choosing an outfit for Matilda to wear (and yes, no doubt I will be saying the very same words in 15 years or so….).
You see I am not a fashionable person and while I do generally look presentable and somewhat up with the times, going to a clothes shop and choosing anything beyond jeans and t shirts is a challenge. In fact more often than not I send the lady of the manor to choose clothes for me.
Dressing Matilda so far has been pretty easy; it was a case of simply choosing which baby grow to put her in. But now she has proper clothes; skirts, trousers, dresses, tights the list goes on. I look into her draws and my mind just goes blank, which of these items really go together? I’ll take an outfit through to the lady of the manor and ask what she thinks, 9 times out of 10 I get ‘the look’ the one that says are you stupid? Are you colour blind? What can possibly make you think that those items go together? I retreat quickly back to the Matilda’s room in search of a safer choice.
This is all well and good at the moment, but in January I’ll start having some weekends on my own when the lady of the manor goes back to work. Then what? Do I get her to leave outfits out for me? Or perhaps I amuse myself by texting her photos of Matilda wearing the worst possible outfit I can put together? Even better if the photo is in a public place….
