You keep saying you can you can do it for yourself.
all those things, you don’t need any help
But you’ve been falling, when you shouldn’t have been falling
and now daddy has to kiss it all better again.
These legs are made for walking
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these legs are going to bump right into you
I’m sure Matilda isn’t the only toddler with legs that look battered and bruised like this right?

Pretty sure that’s normal – ours usually look that that too. I think it’s a good thing; it shows your child is active 🙂

oh she’s active all right!

Yup, looks very familiar to me. Heather is getting close to 5 now, and her legs are still covered in bumps and scrapes

I have a feeling Matilda’s will be like this for many years!

Dear lord no! My wee man’s legs are covered. It’s that same thing wanting to do everything himself then dealing with the tears after. Thankfully he is pretty tough and usually he has to hurt himself real bad to have too many tears otherwise he just asks you to kiss it better.

They bounce back quick don’t they, we try not to make a fuss when she falls over also so she doesn’t get dramatic about every bump.

🙂 Olivia loves showing people her scabby knees. It’s like a badge of honour. As long as they had fun creating the scans it doesn’t matter 🙂

Curly Girl is covered in bruises and has only just shed two huge scabs on knee and elbow from a tumble from a big tumble. Goes with the territory I guess and at least it shows they’re active kids. What gets me is how quickly they heal at this age – my cuts and bruises hang around for weeks! Lovely poem.

glad it’s not just us then, always make me paranoid when out and about though

Oh bless her! Ozzys legs bear the scabs of a gravel battle and lots of climbing – he’s fearless and gets into everything and with that comes scrapes and bruises. His mind seems to have more energy then his legs do too, and he stumbles when he’s been walking for a while. I too do the whole ‘no fuss’ thing when he falls over, I didn’t with Kitty and she is a bit of a drama queen over any tiny scratch or bruise!

yeah nothing worse than a needy kid is there? Fine that they want some comfort but you don’t want them crying at every little scratch do you?

What a cutie! F regularly has scratches from falling near brambles or tumbling at the park. It’s part and parcel of being a kid, right?!

I think so, there is always a bit of paranoia about what people will think when they see them
